I love those old tiles. I hate to see many of them being “erased” by the footsteps of tourists in some of the châteaux, such as Chenonceau.
Yes, I agree, but otherwise they’d have to be covered up completely! This morning, in the gallery of the Palais Royal, the tiles had just been washed and you could see their original colour. I’ve just put a photo up on Facebook showing one of the medallions.
