A few autumn leaves on the floor tiles of the king’s oratory built in 1498,which is at the end of the Louis XII wing of Blois Royal Castle.

Yes, I agree, but otherwise they’d have to be covered up completely! This morning, in the gallery of the Palais Royal, the tiles had just been washed and you could see their original colour. I’ve just put a photo up on Facebook showing one of the medallions.
