Montlivault, 11 km from Blois, has a 12th century church that was recently restored. It also has a tall bell-tower with a portal from the late 15th century. During restoration, 15th century wall paintings were discovered which we haven’t visited yet.
Montlivault, à 11 km de Blois possède une église du XIIe siècle nouvellement restaurée. L’édifice comporte à l’ouest un important clocher dont le portail date de la fin du XVe siècle. Lors de la restauration intérieure, des peintures murales du XVe siècle ont été découvertes que nous n’avons pas encore visitées.

That church looks in perfect condition ! I’m not familiar with Montilvault, so yet another place to add to my list.

We went back again for Saint Valentine’s Day. Usually at lunchtime there is a set menu, very reasonably priced.
