Royal roof surmonted by magnificent ornamental weather vanes on top of the Louis XII staircase in Blois Castle which date from the early 16th century. At this height, they mustn’t get much maintenance.

They look great although I’m not sure where the triangles are.
If you count, there are eight triangles, 4 above the lozenges and 4 below.

Beautiful composition and blue sky ! But am I mistaken that the two weather vanes are pointing in different directions ?! Or am I just an April fool ?
Absolutely, no doubt due to poor maintenance!
Yes, the triangles are quite easy to see. I would suspect that the weather vanes have rarely, if ever, received maintenance. This is a gorgeous contribution.
