The Loire is full of sandbanks and little islands that prevent it from being navigable. This one is on the right side of the bridge looking towards Amboise.

Strangely, that little island reminds me of one I’ve seen in a photograph taken in the Nahanni region here in Canada: low lying scrub, small island
