We wondered why this nuthatch was not frightered away by our presence until we realised it had caught its tongue in the fatball mesh. Jean Michel carefully cut the mesh and the bird flew away. We hope it managed to get its tongue out of the remaining mesh.
Nous étions surpris de voir que cette sitelle n’avait pas peur de nous puis on a vu qu’il avait coincé sa langue dans le filet de la boule de graisse. Jean Michel a soigneusement découpé le filet et l’oiseau s’est envolé. Nous espérons qu’il a pu se débrouiller pour dégage sa langue du filet restant.

We saw one again today but he didn’t identify himself!
I’ve never heard of such a thing. Hopefully that’s a rare occurrence.
