  1. I was thinking Romanesque/Romane. I generally don’t use the term Renaissance for architecture as the period has a distinct change in style from early to late. I tend to use Italianate and Classical. Plus of course most French Renaissance ecclesiastical architecture is Gothic.

    @Susan – I shall bow to the expert for Renaissance. What would you call our house built in 1584?
