I was not quite game enough to take a full-on photo of grandad on his tricycle when I went to the neighbouring village of Chouzy-sur-Cisse to buy croissants to share with my fisherman-husband on the Loire.

A different kind of trike than what I’m used to. I imagine it comes in very handy if you still want to bike around but want something a bit more steady and balanced.
It’s sort of back to front of the way I’ve seen trikes before. Two wheels under the heavy bit of the body and one to steer. How unusual – or is it a French thing?
