I’m a big fan of wrought iron too. The house where we lived in the UK had wrought iron gates that were probably made by the same workshop as made Hampton Court Palaces. Ours weren’t gilded though 🙂
@William – Maybe 18th century. Not sure.
@Susan – Oh, how wonderful! I have to say that the wrought iron fences at the Palais Royal were gilded and I watched them redoing them. It was fascinating.
