This little-known Renaissance Castle is not in very good shape but the young guide does a good job to make it interesting. The entrance fee of 10 euros is a little steep. We cycled from Montrichard.

It has character.
10 euros seems about right to me. There is no way they are covering costs, and with a fragile chateau like this, best to charge more and have fewer visitors initially so the building and staff cope. Then you can choose to keep the nice simple round entry fee for years while you build a brand that people recognise and want to visit.
It’s debatable. There were only four in our tour and it was during the long weekend. We didn’t see anyone else before or afterwards.
