We cycled to Château de Chaumont this morning and I took this photo of my favourite pond. By the time we left at midday, the crowds had started to arrive. The gardens at Chaumont are one of my main sources of inspiration but they don’t seem to have slugs. Our main after-dinner activity at the moment is slug-hunting. They have eaten all my dahlias and half my baby basil plants that I had so lovingly grown from seed, not to mention my blue sage seedlings.

A pretty scene.
All God’s creatures are wonderful – BUT I draw the line at slugs!
Particularly the large orange ones.
I feel your pain. The caterpillars have just destroyed my quite 3 large pentas. I know they grow into beautiful butterflies but…………………..
We were talking about caterpillars tonight but they don’t seem to be a problem here. I don’t think they have Pentax here. I’ve never seen them.
