This is my favourite view of Blois: the Loire from Vienne, with the traditional flat-bottom boats in the foreground, Gabriel Bridge, the Royal Castle of Blois and Saint Nicolas Church in background.
Today is theme day in the City Daily Photo community, where City Daily Photo blogs all over the world can post a January theme entry. See other interpretations of the photo of the year theme from all over the world and in particular Amboise Daily Photo, just down the river!

Beautiful, Baudelaire comes to mind:
Là, tout n’est qu’ordre et beauté,
Luxe, calme et volupté.
Flat-bottomed boats are also typical on the river near the place I was born. My father owned one, now my brother.
Happy New Year,
Merisi
Hi, and thanks for stopping by and for Baudelaire’s lovely quote. Happy New Year! Rosemary

Very attractive reflection shot! Happy New Year and all the best in 2014!
Thank you. I took at look at your website. The bird shots are really beautiful. Happy New Year to you too and I hope you don’t lose any more photos. I use Carbonite which transfers everything into cyberspace and onto a hard disk.
