Friends in the Bed Chamber – Amis dans la chambre

This is the master bedroom in Château de Bourges. I know royalty used to hold court in the bed chamber but I was still surprised that this bedroom renovated by Renee Viguier and used by her and her husband, the director of a Parisian department store who bought the chateau in 1917, has so much seating (there were other arm chairs I didn’t photograph).

C’est la chambre principale au château de Bouges. Je sais que la royauté recevait du monde au pied du lit mais j’étais quand même surprise de voir que lors de la redécoration du château par Renée Viguier femme de Henri Viguier, directeur d’un grand magasin parisien, qui l’a acheté en 1917, on y a mis autant de sièges (il y avait d’autres fauteuils que je n’ai pas photographiés).
