I try to eat my lettuces before they reach such heights but I don’t have as many. Now that we go slug hunting twice a day, the population has diminished considerably and even my dahlias, which I dug up and repotted after they were totally stripped of their leaves, are reviving.

An excellent view.
Good heavens. What kind of lettuces are those? Here, in hot weather, they must be eaten when they are small and new, otherwise, bitter. I guess that is not the case there. Sigh. Glad you are winning in the slug confrontation.
I don’t think anyone will be eating them ?
Lettuce? Boy, if we had lettuce like that here, our groundhog would think it had died and gone to groundhog heaven.
I guess they manage to keep any predators at bay ?
I visited Villandry many years ago. I remember how neat the gardens were, far neater than anyone I know could keep a garden.
They are very neat I agree. They have a lot of gardeners.
