At the market in Blois today, I noticed the sign up on the left saying Quartier des arts (Arts Quarter) for the first time. I wonder if it’s new.
Au marché de Blois aujourd’hui, j’ai remarqué le panneau en haut à gauche “Quartier des Arts” pour la première fois. Je me demande si c’est nouveau.

Three enticing signs in the main street of Chaumont better known for its chateau – a tea room, a delicatessen and an engraving studio.
Trois enseignes bien sympathiques dans la rue principale du village de Chaumont mieux connu pour son château.

Two Towers – Deux tours
These two towers are part of the walls that once surround the city of Blois. They are very imposing but I don’t know anything else about them. It would be great to walk around the top.
Ces deux tours font parties de l’ancienne enceinte de la ville de Blois. Elles sont très imposantes mais je n’arrive pas à en savoir plus. J’aimerais bien me promener tout en haut.

In an English-speaking country, The White Feather would probably be a pub, wouldn’t it? La plume blanche is in Tours.
Dans un pays anglosaxon, La Plume Blanche serait plutôt le nom d’un pub. Ce petit restaurant est à Tours.

The Christmas decorations may have been disappointing, but I loved these orchids in the grand dining room at Château de Cheverny.
Les décorations de noël sont peut-être decevantes mais ces orchidées dans la grande salle à manger au Château de Cheverny sont splendides.
We went to Château de Cheverny today to see the tallest Christmas tree in Europe – that’s it on the right. Not as impressive as we had hoped … the interior Christmas decorations were very disappointing as well.
Nous sommes allés au château de Cheverny aujourd’hui voir le plus grand sapin de noël en Europe. Vous le voyez à droite. Mais la décoration laisse à désirer tout comme cella à l’intérieur.
Unfortunately we didn’t find any horn of plenty mushrooms in the forest today, but it was lovely with the sun filtering through.
Malheureusement nous n’avons pas trouvé de trompettes de la mort dans la forêt cet après-midi mais c’était très plaisant avec le soleil qui filtrait à travers les arbres.
When I planted these nasturtiums I didn’t imagine for one minute that we would still be enjoying them at the end of November.
Je n’ai pas pensé lorsque j’ai planté ces graines de capucines qu’on en profiterait encore à la fin du mois de novembre.
