This is the lovely Italianate façade of Blois Royal Castle built in the 17th century.

We went to our monthly meet-up of the Loire Connexion at Le Shaker on l’Ile d’Or in Amboise on Friday despite the fact that it was minus 7°C and I took another photo of the red lights over the castle, but including the bridge this time. You can click here to see the previous photo …

Reflections of Chambord – Reflets de Chambord
Admittedly, I did not take this photo today, but two days ago. Since then we have not seen even a tiny bit of sun or blue sky. Today’s photo is below. The temmperature did not go above zero. …

Chambord's New Gardens – Les nouveaux jardins de Chambord
Today we got our first glimpse of the new gardens at Chambord, though they are still in the early stages. The aim is to restore the formal gardens as they were in the 18th century so that visitors can see the château, no longer as an isolated object, but as part of a majestic environment combining …

Amboise in Red – Amboise en rouge
The Royal Castle of Amboise has a new colour scheme but I’m not that keen. How about you? I’ve added last month’s colours below.
Rooftops of Amboise – Toits d'Amboise
Most of the photos I take of Amboise are from l’ïle d’Or looking across at the castle. This one is taken from the other side of the Loire and shows the castle from the back. In the foreground you can see a troglodyte house. Presque toutes mes photos d’Amboise sont prises depuis l’Ile d’Or en …
Chenonceau from the other side – Chenonceau de l'autre côté
All my photos of this side of Chenonceau are taken into the light. One day when I’m feeliing extxremely motivated I’ll get up early and take a morning photo.

Chenonceau
Chenonceau never fails to delight us. This is always my favourite view from the walking/bike path on the south bank of the Cher.
The Perfect Pâtisserie – La pâtisserie parfaite
Langeais is famous for its mediaeval castle but what we love is the pâtisserie opposite! They make their own delicious ice-cream, pâtisseries and chocolates and the view is wonderful! We cycled a few extra kilometers to go there. …

The Green Balloon – Le ballon vert
There were lots of hot air balloons in the air during the long weekend. I caught this one is just before Château de Chaumont.
