We came across the little pop-up booth offering refreshments on the bike path between Muides and Saint-Dyé, not unusual in Germany but unheard-of here.

We cycled from Blois to Muides and back today on either side of the Loire. We hoped to take the little ferry across at Cours sur Loire but Covid seems to have chased it away.

After spending most of the weekend gardening we had a pleasant ride on our bikes starting at Cheverny and having a tea break at Cellettes.
Après avoir jardiné une bonne partie du week-end nous avons fait un circuit en vélo agréable en commençant par Cheverny et en prenant un pause-thé a Cellettes.
We discovered an important thing today: the Black Forest, home of the cuckoo clock and the Black Forest cake, is not a cyclist’s paradise unless you have a mountain bike and better knees than we do or don’t mind riding alongside busy roads. Even with an e-bike, cycling uphill for 3.5 k is hard going.
Nous avons découvert quelque chose d’important aujourd’hui : la Forêt noire, où l’horloge à coucou et la forêt noire étaient inventés, n’est pas le paradis des cyclistes à moins d’avoir un VTT et de meilleures articulations que nous ou bien d’accepter de rouler à côté de routes très fréquentées. Même avec un vélo à assistance électrique continuer à monter pendant 3,5 k n’est pas facile.
Today we moved to our last region in Germany – the Black Forest – before heading home to Blois. The last photo is the view from our very large balcony.

Most of our 47 k cycle route today was along the Neckar River and through vineyards which meant a lot of hills. We have thoroughly enjoyed our three days of cycling in the area, with recommendations from the helpful owner of our very comfortable rental apartment called Jägerschlösschen.
Une bonne partie de notre circuit de 47 k aujourd’hui nous a emmené sur les bords du Neckar et à travers des vignobles. Nous avons beaucoup aimé nos trois jours de vélo dans la région, grâce aux recommandations du propriétaire de notre très comfortable appartement de location qui s’appelle Jägerschlösschen.
Today we cycled 77 k in 4 hours 20 along part of the excellent Kocher-Jagst bike route near Heilbronn and went through scenic countryside and a number of pretty villages starting at Duttenberg and including Neudenau, Möckmühl, Jagsthausen, Neuenstadt am Kocher and Oedheim. It was a relief after the disappointment of cycling along the Neckar from Heilbronn to Neckarsulm yesterday for a picnic dinner because all we saw were industrial sites! The last photo is that of our current accommodation. We have an apartment on the second story.
Aujourd’hui nous avons fait 77 km en vélo en 4 h 20 sur une partie de l’excellent circuit vélo de Kocher-Jagst à côté de Heilbronn. On est passé par des paysages scéniques et plusieurs jolis petits villages en commençant à Duttenberg et incluant Neudenau, Möckmühl, Jagsthausen, Neuenstadt am Kocher et Oedheim. C’était un soulagement après notre promenade et pique-nique décevants hier soir entre Heilbronn et Neckarsulm qui longeait une suite de sites industriels. La dernière photo est celle de notre logement actuel où nous occupons un appartement au premier étage.
