Today, we took the Ocean Road walking path from Korora Bay to Digger Beach, north of Coffs Harbour and found ourselves on this incredible walkway. If a man in a nearby house had not called out to us to take the staircase, we would never have imagined we could!
Aujourd’hui nous avons emprunté le sentier pédestre de “Ocean Road” de la baie de Korora à Digger Beach, au nord de Coffs Harbour. Nous n’aurions jamais osé prendre ce chemin parmi les arbres si un riverain ne nous l’avait indiqué.

This kookaburra was sitting on the fence while we were having our coffee this morning in Coff’s Harbour while the galahs were at the feeder in the tree a little further down.
Ce kookaburra trônait sur la clôture ce matin pendant que nous prenions notre café ce matin à Coff’s Harbour pendant que les galahs se délectaient à la mangeoire dans l’arbre un peu plus loin.

This lovely old house has been built in several stages starting with the central part in the 1880s. The colour of the bricks is always a clue to the construction date. The beautiful garden laid out in front is still magnificent. It has had several owners including a mail contractor who built the stables below in the back paddock.
Cette belle vieille maison a été construite en plusieurs étapes, en commençant par la partie centrale aux années 1880. La couleur des briques est toujours une indication de la date de construction. Le joli jardin devant la maison est encore magnifique. Plusieurs propriétaires se sont succédés y compris un transporteur de courrier qui a fait construire les étables dans un champ derrière la maison.

Armidale on the New England Tableland, is a lovely university town of 20,000 people where constructions cannot be more than 2 stories high (ground + 2). This is a newly constructed house in a beautiful wooded setting that blends in perfectly with the rest of the local architecture.
Armidale, qui se trouve sur le plâteau de New England, à l’ouest de Sydney, est une jolie petite ville universitaire de 20,000 personnes où les constructions ne peuvent pas dépasser deux étages. Cette maison de construction récente dans un bel environnement boisé se marie parfaitemnet avec l’architecture locale.

Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 . It was a convict penal settlement from 1839 to 1869 and one of Austalia’s biggest shipyards, operating between 1857 and 1991 with the first of its two dry docks built by convicts.
L’île de Cockatoo dans la baie de Sydney est devenue patrimoine mondiale de l’UNESCO en 2010. C’était une colonie pénitensionnaire de 1839 à 1869 et l’un des plus grands chantiers navals d’Australie. Il a fonctionné entre 1857 et 1991, l’un de ces deux cales sèches ayant été construites par des bagnards.

Our first few days in Sydney have been busy catching up with family and friends but today we played the tourists and walked from The Rocks to the Opera House and up into the Domain. Feels good to be in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
Nos premiers jours à Sydney se sont passés avec la famille et les amis mais aujourd’hui nous avons joué les touristes. Nous avons démarré au quartier “Les Rocks” et sommes allés jusqu’au parc “The Domain”. Je suis contente de me retrouver dans une des plus belles villes du monde.

Jama Masjid (great mosque), the biggest in India, was built in 1650 in the middle of Old Delhi and can welcome 25,000 people in front of the main building. The three domes made of white marble striated with black offer a striking contrast with the pink sandstone of the rest of the mosque..
La Jama Masjid (grande mosqué), la plus grande en Inde, était construite en 1650 au coeur du Vieux Delhi et peut accueillir 25 000 fidèles devant le bâtiment principal. Les trois dômes en marbre blanc strité de noir tranchent sur le grès rouge du reste de l’édifice.

I was so busy packing yesterday that I didn’t have time to post. I thought these sheep and lambs would be a good transition between the Loire Valley and our 6-week holiday in Australia and India. From now on, I’ll be publishing postcards of our travels. This photo was taken just next to Blois.
