We have found a more cheerful backdrop for our mid morning coffee at the Saturday market in Blois. Even open air cafés seem a long way off. Nous avons trouvé un fond plus gai pour notre café de onze heures au marché de samedi à Blois. Même les cafés terrasses semblent bien loin encore.

The Deserted Market – Le marché désert
The market in Blois has remained busy despite Covid but today’s temperature of 5 degrees below zero left a lot of empty spaces. Regrettably the oysters were frozen and our regular organic market gardener wasn’t there. The vendor we bought our vegetables from had left his lettuces in his truck and fetched them on demand. …
A Cold Market – Un marché froid
The cold weather is continuing and it was minus 1 degree when we got to the market this morning despite the sun. What amazes me is the number of people without anything on their head and some without gloves. At least wearing masks keeps our noses warm. I even wore long Johns today under woolen …
Lockdown #2 Phase 2 – Day 16 – Reconfinement Phase 2 – Jour 16

Fancy Necks – Cous insolites
This is some sort of squash at our Saturday market in Blois but I haven’t seen it before. C’est un espèce de courge au marché de Blois mais c’est la première fois que je la vois.
Back to the Market – Retour au marché
Sunny Market – Marché au soleil
Sun at the Market – Soleil au marché
We go to the Saturday market in Blois rain or shine but it’s always better when there is sun, even at minus one degree. Nous allons toujours au marché de Blois le samedi quelque soit le temps mais c’est toujours mieux avec le soleil même à moins un.
