We’ve hired a trench-digging machine for two days so that Jean Michel can install an automatic watering system. The only problem is the very clayey soil and large number of rocks. When I went to buy some more petrol in jerrycans this morning for the little gas-guzzler, I learnt that starting today until after New Year, buying petrol in portable containers is prohibited. I finally talked the lady at the service station into letting me fill my two 5-liter cans but fortunately when Jean Michel went to the automatic pumps at Auchan this evening there was no problem. The prohibition is to stop people making Molotov cocktails during the holiday season.
Nous avons loué une trancheuse pendant deux jours pour que Jean Michel puisse installer un système d’arrosage automatique. Le seul problème est que la terre est très argileuse et il y a un nombre important de gros cailloux. Lorsque je suis allée acheter de l’essence en bidon pour alimenter la trancheuse ce matin j’ai appris qu’à partir d’aujourd’hui et jusqu’après le nouvel an, il est interdit d’acheter du carburant en récipient transportable. J’ai réussi à convaincre la dame à la station service de me laisser remplir mes deux bidons de 5 litres mais heureusement lorsque Jean Michel est allé aux pompes à paiement par carte à Auchan ce soir, il n’y avait pas de problème. L’interdiction vise à empêcher la fabrication de cocktails Molotov entre autres pendant les fêtes.
