I have to say that, apart from the tulips in front of the Orangery in Cheverny, I was not impressed by their display which I thought lacked imagination like their Christmas decorations. At no point can you see the château itself from the tulip beds. I did, however, try to make the most of the “river of tulips” in my photographs.
Je dois dire qu’a part des tulipes devant l’Orangerie à Cheverny, j’étais décue par leur aménagement car je trouvais tout comme leurs décorations de noël qu’il manquait d’imagination. Aucun point de vue n’associe le château avec les parterres de tulipes. J’ai cherché néanmoins à en tirer la meilleure partie de la “rivière des tulipes” dans mes photos.

We finally made it to Château de Cheverny when the tulips are out. Each year they plant 100,000 bulbs. The first photo is taken in front of the Orangery where the tulips in full sun all day are starting to go past their best-by date! The second photo, taken with my back to the Orangery, shows the back façade of the château with the tulips in the afternoon shade.
Nous avons enfin réussi à aller au château de Cheverny à l’époque des tulipes. Tous les ans, on plante 100 000 bulbes. La première photo est prise devant l’Orangery où les tulipes, en plein soleil toute la journée, ont dépassé un peu leur date limite ! La deuxième photo, prise dos à l’Orangerie, montre la façade arrière du château avec des tulipes à l’ombre l’après-midi.
